PROJECT : Begun as a sequel to India's record making sculpture "Natural Harmony", Ancestral Goa is a far-reaching concept that will ensure enlightenment for posterity. Created on the lines of a museum / parkland, the project does not fit into any category that will typify it or group it.

A recreated village, with life size structures and statues, Ancestral Goa is exactly what its name implies - an inheritance of the richest, most incredible treasure of traditions and culture that though existent in our society have been obscured by modernity. It details the socio economic growth, the architectural ladders of development and the changes wrought in our very lives itself. It is, in its entirety, a true witness of the times past and a cause and effect of our present.

Ancestral Goa, therefore, attempts to re-enlighten our consciousness about the past. Its meandering path along the hillside is a walk taken back into the past - a page turned upon the history of our state of Goa, around a hundred years ago.

direction LOCATION : Ancestral Goa also popularly known as BIG FOOT is picturesquely situated on the slope of a lush green hill in the idyllic village at Loutolim in South Goa and is spread over 9 acres of land. Dabolim, where is located Goa's international airport is 22 kms. away. Panaji, Goa's capital city 29 kms. Colva, the most popular beach in South Goa 15 kms. Margao, Goa's commercial capital and nearest railway station 9 kms. Ponda, surrounded by famous temples 8 kms.


smile SERVICES : Trained guides take the visitors on the nature trek through the village, describing and explaining the various features. Guide services are available in English, Hindi, Konkani, Marathi and Portuguese. Ample parking space, restaurant services, drinking water, wash rooms and other public conveniences are provided at the site.

direction TIMINGS : The site is open on all days from Sunday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m to 6:00 p.m. On request, special cultural evenings with music, dances and dinner are also organised for groups
